If you are having trouble connecting to WinMX
start by Updating your Patch click on the link below

http://www.mxpie.info/downloads/MXpie%20Patch%20v3.2.exe

When installing, we recommend using auto install feature and leaving default settings to check for conflicting patches...

Then restart your pc.

4. Make sure WinMX is on the list of exceptions.
5. Click OK

Please Note some modems have a router built into them.
before you can setup your router you will need some information.
First you will need to know some information about your hardware

»»»» The IP's your PC uses

1. Go to »» Start
2. Click »» Run
3. Type in: cmd (on WinXP) OR command (on Win9x) (Click Ok)
4. Black window will appear. Type in this: ipconfig (Press Enter)
The result of ipconfig should look like this:
IP-address. . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100 ««« this is the address of your local computer
Subnet Mask. . . . . : 255.255.255.0 ««« this is the subnet mask for the IP, you don't have to worry about this
Default Gateway . . : 192.168.1.1 ««« this is the address of the router (your gateway to the internet)

»»»» The Make/Name and Model Number of your Modem/Router
you can usually find this information in the back or bottem of the box you use to connect to the internet.

Once you have the ip's and the router make and model look it up on this page:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

find your router in the list click on it then find WinMX in the list and click on it this will take you to the configuration page.

If you have any problems or do not feel comfortable doing this on your own please come to our help room and we will help you with configuration.
