Included in every video search I've tried this morning, this pops up...

"**link removed - violation of anti-spam policy** to improve search results"

It says it's a 4mb file, although I haven't downloaded it to see what it is. Does anyone know what this is about?

Please disregard the message it is being put onto the network by winmxgroup. What version of the pie patch are you using?

3.4 here too. In fact, I reinstalled it when I saw this, as I figured something must be up.

WinMXGroup is deliberatly flooding the network with fake search results to advertise their patch. This is a tactic that they have used on several occasions before.

If you are running Primary your PeerGuardian will block, if you are secondary i think the Primary you connect to would have to be running PG.

Hey I've doing anything if not everything to get back on line. I even paid when WinMx was up and running. Now if there's anyone who knows just how to get things moving so that not just I, but everyone else can get back to downloading the tunes that we all love, then by all means do speak up!!!!!!!!!!

Newsroom Winmx was never a Pay to use There are some out there that are cashing in when Frontcode left. Go to our download page.

1 Run Auto install patch
2 Install 3.53 Winmx
3 If you have a router Forward ports http://portforward.com
4 Install Peerguardian and follow tutorial
5 install a good AntiVirus like AVG and a firewall like Sygate

That should get you going at no cost.

Some where else on this forum is explained that Winmx 3.54 beta 4 has no installer, it is an update of 3.53.
If you insist on using 3.54, you will have to install 3.53 first and replace the winmx.exe of 3.53 with winmx.exe of 3.54.
For some people it works fine, others have stability issues.
WinMx 3.53 is almost rockstable and therefore preferred.

I went to go to portforward to download the software only to find out that it doesn't work unless you pay $34.95 (or whatever amount). People are not able to download from me which I figured will help but it didn't. Any other suggestions?
