In summary for those who are losing entire internet connection while running WinMX. This could be due to any of the following factors:

1. If modem lights stay on and flashing even though entire internet connection is lost this usually signifies that the modem has crashed. Power cycling the modem can fix this.

---Modem crashes could be caused by:
      a. Too many simultanious connections
      b. Faulty modems
      c. Some cheap modems are known to crash when getting a new IP from a DHCP server.

2. If you have a router, setting a static internal IP can be beneficial.

3. If you are running WinMX on Primary mode, using PG2 can prevent your connection from being abused by flooders.

Note: For Vista users for installing PeerGuardian2 with WinMX Block and Allow list, it is recommened you do so. PG2 Download Links and Tutorial
