Type of Internet Connection: Broadband - DSL

Router or Modem/Router Combo: Yes speed streen 5400

WinMX Version: 3.53

Installed Patch: MXPie Patch

Type of WinMX Connection: Primary

Installed PG2: Yes

Added WinMX Lists: Yes

Problem: I am having problems with... mx is now regularly stopping and has to close this is the report below

Hi Scratch

What changes have you made recently? Any updates?

First we can try deleting the settings.dat from the winmx folder and restarting winmx this will recreate the settings.dat and maybe fix this problem. Write down your settings as to ports and such because these settings will need to be set while restarting.

that didn't work still closing .... this pc is always on d generally never give's problems except about3 months ago when the windows update to rename the computer ad then the net work would no recognize it.
there must be something in windows that is causing it but how do i ascertain that.
have done adobe update recently ??
and window did its update but what can i do about that??

any ideas i thought the fault message sent to mx would give details ??

I have updated my xp to service pack3 and have seen no problems yet.

found the problem i was DL ing the Jason Mras New song and it tried to connect to about 7000 connections at once i deleted it and its been fine ever since
